Intrauterine insemination or IUI is an
artificial insemination method that is one of the widely requested infertility
treatments in India. The procedure is much simpler and usually inexpensive when
compared to IVF (in vitro fertilisation), with a relatively high rate of
success, especially when it is administered by a qualified fertility
specialist. IUI treatment in India is offered in top gynaecology hospitals
where it is made to be more convenient and easier for women due to having a
specialised infertility department that can prioritise and focus on the issue.
To improve the success of the treatment gonadotropins may be administered, and
the procedure itself should be conducted by a skilled specialist with over a
decade of experience in IUI.
IUI treatment
in India starts with follicular development in which the woman’s eggs must
be developed by either ovulation induction or super ovulation. Most gynaecologists
will use ovulation induction with IUI due to the simplicity of the process, but
infertility specialists may do both or administer super ovulation, which is
known to provide better results. Just be sure that the doctor has proven
experience and success in the procedure to ensure success. It should produce
two to three follicles every month, unlike ovulation induction, which produces
only one each month.
The development and growth of the
follicles are assessed via ultrasound on alternate days, but it may also be
done every day. Through these assessments, the fertility specialist can
determine if IUI treatment in India is good for you, or they can recommend an
alternative, which is IVF. Follicles are considered mature when they are 16 to
18mm in size. This is when the ovulation trigger will trigger the egg release.
From there, the IUI treatment process will now include the semen sample from
the male to be processed and then delivered straight into the uterus using a
catheter.
Consider scheduling a consultation
with a fertility specialist at a gynaecology hospital for IUI treatment in
India to learn more about the procedure and to determine if it is the best
solution for you. The doctor can also advise you of other treatments that can
increase your chance of becoming pregnant with IUI.
